Anne Ogg (she/her) (MLA, UNC Asheville, Ed.S., University of Florida) is an instructional designer in the Center for Teaching and Learning at UNC Asheville with a background in both teaching in the humanities and in instructional technology. In 2016 she stumbled on woodturning at the Western North Carolina Mountain Fair and was immediately hooked. She specializes in miniatures, one foot to one inch scale, and also enjoys turning ornaments and architectural replacement pieces. Other woodworking projects include boat building and small furniture. After serving two years as vice president of Carolina Mountain Woodturners, the largest subchapter of the American Association of Woodturners, she was recently elected as the first woman president of the club.
Anne has recently been awarded Artisan membership in the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA), a juried and an internationally recognized guild of miniature artists!
She has enjoyed sharing her woodturning expertise with members of the UNC Asheville community as well as mentoring other new woodturners.
